Twitter is Over Capacity

Can you believe it?  I just tried to Tweet and Twitter is over capacity.  We didn't even have Twitter when I first started to use the World Wide Web.  Actually, the first comment came to me some years ago when a nice, young man came to my home to fix my DSL.  I said, "Don't worry that you can't fix the problem with the first ten things you tried.  When I used the VT100 it would hang up every once in a while.  Computers always come around."   He replied, "Hey, I learned about that VT100 when I was in college!"

This week is much better.  I was able to attend the Electronic Entertainment Expo in Los Angeles, CA from the comfort of my living room.  (That's better known as E3 to those who are heavily involved.)  Over 45,000 people were expected to attend the three day event!

Microsoft had everybody's attention right off with their announcement of their Kinect Star Wars game.  Funny that there would be excitement over the Star Wars game because Microsoft informed us that they are giving their XBox Live service a facelift.  The updated service will give us access to You Tube and live TV.  Not only that, but we will be able to control our XBox Live account with our voices.  The updated service will also provide access to Bing to search for XBox Live content.   They also announced that Disney and Microsoft has partnered to create the entire Disneyland park so we can all have a 360 experience.  The rides will be considered mini-games.

Nintendo announced their next generation console, the Nintendo Wii U.   The console’s controller utilizes a touchscreen that can be used to play games on its own while the system allows for interaction between the touchscreen and the television.  It has a 6.2-inch screen with two analog controllers, but it isn’t a portable gaming device though because it acquires its images wirelessly from the console.  With Wii U owners will be able to have five participants in games or can use more than one controller to play a game.

Sony announced the new PlayStation Vita.  I admit I wasn't there, but I believe the consistent comments that the screen resolution is excellent and the controls are smooth.  What appeals is the touch interface on the back of the device.  AT&T is PlayStation Vita's 3G partner.  The games might cost more, but the game experience will be far better.  Sony is also adding to the 3-D experience and they told us about their new social network, "Near."  We will see the Vita in stores for the holiday season.

I want to go back over a few things that I saw and a few that I missed, but the first thing that comes to mind is, "WOW!"  I had a blast attending E3.  Thank you to everyone that broadcasted.

Web site update - Deals

I don't always blatantly suggest you shop, but I'm still so impressed with the Amazon Warehouse deals that I figured I would remind you about them.  The link I've posted is specifically for electronics, but you can access additional deals by clicking, "all Warehouse Deals offers."

The Warehouse has a lot more than electronics.  Sure there are TV's and computers, but there are grocery items too.  I found an item that I use regularly that was almost fifteen percent less than any sale price I can find in the grocery store.  That fifteen percent saves me $3.25.  That doesn't sound like much, but if I can save fifteen dollars on every hundred that I spend I'll be much better off.    I just did the math on the annual household income.

There's a new goal.  I'm shooting for a fifteen percent cost of living reduction!

Updates to web site

Between of the nasty weather and a list of other things, I've been away from the computer for a few weeks.  It wasn't that I didn't read anything or accomplish anything, I just haven't been spending a lot of time goofing off doing things that I enjoy.  Thus, the Blog took a back seat.

Since I have the bad habit of keeping up with the news, I know that employment statistics are not what any of us want to hear.  We have started a Twitter account and follow employment, deals, and anything that we find of interest.  You can follow us at  Twitter@GAnnaHardware.

We have also updated the web site.  Our most recent update is lawn mower blades that are made in America.  You can click the Lawn and Mower tab to see what we found.  We'll be adding more products soon.

In addition to the Lawn and Mower page we have added a Resume Help  page.  Resume Help is free.  It is fairly simple, but we had a great deal of response when we posted this information on our personal web site and thought we should include it on our business web site as well.  Feel free to pass the information along to anyone that needs it.

It's good to be back.  Hope you're all well.
